A Thank You from Wendy

Released Sunday 21st February 2016

It has been the most incredible month of UK shows, press, radio, rehearsals, laughs, love, challenges, triumphs, musical triumphs and moments with you: The Fans of my music, old and new, who have just kept on, kept on being with me, toe to toe, every step of the way!

THE PRICE OF THE TICKET is bona-fide OUT now and I can hardly believe all the memories of recording it in NYC with Lenny, Glen and Jim and then taking it over to Berkeley CA to mix with Jesse…I remember turning up in Paris to meet my friend Kym Ellery and shooting the cover/back cover shot and then preparing the artwork with her from Australia to New York with her team.

I remember working out all the logistics of releasing with Randy from my distribution company Cobraside and him making so much easy lifting of it all for me!  I remember walking into the Pledge offices and meeting Malcom and Barney and Paul and how these men have literally made a business that has changed my life and the way YOU and I have been able to present and purchase my music with utter transparency and complete speed.

We made a video! With Pledge fans involved and with the most dynamic team led by Megan and Haf down at The Ivy House in Nunhead where everyone worked professionally and tirelessly and enthusiastically for a straight 18 hours. I expect and anticipate the edit of the video for Indigent Blues within days now! It will be beautiful!

We made a website!  Thank you Ian!  All these people, and YOU, all of you are people that

DO what they SAY they’re going to do.  And I could not be more happy, more proud, more optimistic than I am now!

Dates are booking up for May, I’ve got two UK Television shows I admire asking for live performances and Radio is gradually getting on board and playing Bad Intentions and Indigent Blues.

Thank you to Sean who has worked tirelessly and continues to, for radio and television.

Thank you to Amanda in Scotland, Jules in Ramsgate, Ben and Cal in London, Bernie in London… Thank you to Ricardo who travelled to UK and took incredible Live shots and always takes the most beautiful photos of me!

THANK YOU TO JAMES MEYNELL, JAMES SCLAVUNOS, JARED FISHER AND BOB WILSON for being my BAND, MY FRIENDS, MY TRUSTED COMPANIONS, MY INSPIRATION, and for making me SO HAPPY.

Thank you my wonderful friends who are there for me, at all times 100% no question. Thank you to Wolfe, Paula and Sean who have been my family in London while I’ve been here!

And once again Thank YOU for being so truly amazing in your love and loyalty for my music and for me… Literally, I couldn’t do it without you.

Have a very good Sunday!

Love Wendy xxx

A message from Wendy James

So important in the making of ‘The Price Of The Ticket’ is the encouragement, good will and enthusiasm I am lucky enough to receive from friends and fans alike. My female friends who support me with their firebrand strength and determination. Old friends in London who remain as true to this day as they were when we were running about in Ladbroke Grove, W.11. Newer friends in New York City who make my present day life so full and thrilling and
the city the place I call home. My friends in Paris, the love and hospitality you give me is such a large part of my life. All over the world I have some true friends who, whether I see you often or not, I know you are there for me. This is the stuff that keeps everything going. Old band members with whom I share memories and from whom I have learned lessons, you are as responsible for getting me here as anyone else. And Fans the messages you send me are so sincere and often with such insight, sometimes a day can literally be made good by one message saying my music is playing a part in your life and for me to keep on!

Thank you
