 Own your bit of Wendy James history! Test pressings are an expensive but very necessary part of the chain of events that lead from the first note played in the writing of a new song to the whole finished LP being in shops and online. The manufacturer sets up the test according to the technical instructions given by the mix engineer, in this case: Fred Kevorkian, and then they are delivered to Wendy James and the mix engineer to listen to carefully in various settings to make sure all the frequencies, all the sonic choices are audible and performing to their maximum clarity and potential. It is only once these test pressings have been given the OK that a full run of production with artwork goes into effect. Test pressings are one the of most crucial stages in production and consequently very rare, never to be repeated! From here-on-in, whenever re-order of a record is made it is according to the original approved test pressings.
